Are you itching to unplug from all of those portable devices and enjoy a bit of face time with the family? If so, tell them to pack up their best summer outfits and get ready to explore the untamed side of St. Simons real estate.
Here are three outdoor activities to consider suggesting to the kids when you get here:
1.) Hunt for Dragonflies in the Afternoon
The warm sun and abundance of water on St. Simons real estate is known to attract a broad spectrum of dragonflies. They are often found flying around during the hottest parts of the day. So why not hunt for them with the kids? If you’re lucky, the dragonflies will stay still long enough to be photographed.
2.) Attend a Day or Evening Class at Driftwood
The family might enjoy attending a class or two at the Driftwood Education Center as well. As you might have assumed, a large number of the center’s day and evening classes focus on helping people gain a better understanding of St. Simons natural environment. For example, you may learn how to cast a seine net or distinguish an alligator from a crocodile.
3.) Catch Fireflies and Listen to Amphibian Concerts
St. Simons real estate is also home to copious amounts of fireflies and frogs that like to serenade all within ear shot. Consequently, catching a few fireflies and listening to an amphibian concert or two might turn out to be a big hit with the kids. The list of web-footed creatures to look out for includes, but shouldn’t be constrained to greenhouse frogs and eastern narrow-mouthed toads.
Of course those three experiences are just the beginning of our summer activities list.
