Sea Island Real Estate Lake Cottages

Sea Island CottagesSea Island real estate isn’t all about sea breezes and ocean views.

There are private, gated communities that overlook the area’s many interconnected lakes and marshes too. One area in particular is known as the Sea Island Lake Cottages.

Positioned close to the iconic Sea Island resort, it features Old World style town homes with lake and marsh views. Many of them were designed by noted architect, Addison Mizner.

Known to favor Spanish Colonial and Mediterranean Revival sensibilities, his unique style is found all over St. Simons and Sea Island. And that includes the gated community of Sea Island Lakes.

Townhouses there tend to feature stucco block exteriors with tile roofs although some homes also make structural use of clay, marble, iron and hand-hewn, wooden beams. The well-appointed interiors boast amenities both classic and modern, like fireplaces and state-of-the-art security systems too.

There are also outdoor amenities to enjoy. Among them are screened terraces, a community pool, paved bicycle paths, a conveniently located postal center and a neighborhood market. The neighborhood market typically carries everything from gourmet foods and high-end coffees to freshly cut, seasonal bouquets of flowers.

Golfing, tennis, fine dining, clay shooting and other diversions are also located nearby.

Considered part of Glynn County, students living in the area often attend Oglethorpe Elementary, Glynn Middle and Glynn Academy High School before moving on to the College of Coastal Georgia in nearby Brunswick. However, as we mentioned in an earlier post, there are private schools located in the surrounding area as well. As such, some parents choose those schools or homeschooling for their children.

To learn more about the pleasures and conveniences that come from living in the gated community of Sea Island Lake Cottages, please contact DeLoach Sotheby’s International Realty Sea Island real estate agents. They currently have properties for sale or rent in the causeway area that they can show you right away.
