Sea Island, GA Real Estate Owners Get a Chance to Explore Italy’s Cuisine

Have you always wanted to learn about Italian cuisine?

If so, late February and early March 2014 are a fine time to visit Coastal Georgia. During those periods, Sea Island, GA real estate owners will have an opportunity to learn Italian cooking techniques from a visiting culinary professional. Here are the bite-size details:

sea island itilain eventThe visiting professional is none other than Cinzia Rascazzo.

She’s an Italy based tour operator, AIS Certified wine sommelier, Stile Mediterraneo Cooking School founder and active member of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil Movement. She’ll be on Sea Island February 28th and March 1st of this year.

On the 28th, in the early afternoon, Rascazzo will be teaching an authentic Italian cooking class at The Cloister’s Colonial Lounge. An olive oil tasting session and tasty lunch are scheduled to be a part of the event. The olive oil tasting session should be particularly interesting given Rascazzo’s background.

If you can’t make it to the class in February, on the 1st Rascazzo will be participating in a special charity dinner event at The Cloister’s Lodge Terrace Room. So you could opt to attend that instead. The dinner will feature Italian wines, mouth-watering cuisine and a chance to mingle with like minded foodies. The charity expected to benefit from the event is Glynn County’s beloved STAR Foundation.

Can’t make it to either spring event? Don’t give up hope. There is a lovely Italian restaurant on Sea Island that’s typically open year round. It’s called Tavola and is generally open for dinner Thursday through Tuesday, year round.

Furthermore, there is another Italian restaurant on nearby St. Simons Island. Known as Tramici, its chef offers Italian cooking classes and dining opportunities throughout the year. They also use Georgia grown ingredients like Georgia Olive Farms’ oils. The farm is based in Lanier County, which is situated roughly two hours away from Glynn County.

To learn more about cooking events and other activities taking place on the island, please contact our Sea Island, GA real estate agents at (912) 638-0406. We’d be happy to show you and your family Sea Island homes, condos and waterfront listings that are located near all of the action.
