Have you ever been relaxing on your favorite piece of Saint Simons real estate and thought, “Man, I wish I had a picture to commemorate this moment?†If so, you might want to make plans to visit the island in July.
The Glynn Art Association Visual Arts Center will be hosting a free, month long event that you may find of interest.
As you might have guessed, it’s a photo show that is designed to highlight amateur and professional St. Simons photographers alike. The show will kick off with a reception and awards show the evening of July 3rd. Then the winning photographs will remain on display at the onsite gallery until late in the month. Expected to be available for viewing are photos that focus on coastal landscape, nature and people.
It isn’t the only photo worthy event taking place at the center this summer either. Saint Simons real estate owners and visitors may also partake of photography workshops. The photography workshops are currently part of the organization’s summer camp for kids. But that doesn’t mean that there won’t be adult photography classes cropping up in the weeks ahead.
In the meantime, there are a few photography techniques that you may want to try the next time you find yourself exploring St. Simons real estate. The experts at B&H and Nikon USA recommend using a series of filters to capture scenes on or near the water, which is something our island has in abundance. Among the most popular filters are those that are classified as polarized or for UV/haze situations. For capturing shots of area golfers, a super telephoto sports lens may come in handy too.
