Planning Your Weekend Getaway at St. Simon’s Island

Planning Your Weekend Getaway at St. Simon’s Island

St. Simons real estate is a great investment for short vacations and weekend getaways. Everyone needs to get away from their daily life every once in a while, even every weekend if possible. If not, then you can at least plan your St. Simon’s getaways for long weekends. Or you can plan to be here during the summer during your kids’ summer vacations.

This is a great place for adults and kids alike because there’s something to do for everybody. You can plan some fun excursions and picnics to explore the area or you can just kick back and relax on the beach.

Here are some things you should remember to do when you’re planning your weekend getaway:

  1. Check the Weather. Make sure that you’re packing appropriately for the weather. You may not live in the St. Simon’s area. So it might be hotter or colder where you’re coming from. And it’s always a good idea to figure out what the weather is supposed to be like all weekend long before you start packing.
  2. Consider Your Activities: What are you planning to do during your weekend at St. Simon’s? If you’re just going to hang out at home or go shopping, you won’t need to pack anything different. But if you’d like to go swimming, fishing, kayaking etc., then you’ll need to pack some gear. So make sure you go prepared.
  3. Cleaning/Stocking Up: It can be a bit difficult to maintain two homes in terms of cleanliness, cooking etc. If you’re only using your St. Simon’s real estate occasionally or on the weekends, then you don’t want to stock it with too much food because it will go bad. But it’s a good idea to clean up before you leave so that your home will be clean when you go there next. And don’t forget to lock everything up when you leave so that birds, pests etc. don’t get in.
