National Geographic has been educating and entertaining the masses for centuries. And this summer, they’ll be doing both, in person, on a heavenly little piece of Sea Island, Georgia, real estate. It’s all part of a wonderful series of events. The first is due to kickoff the evening of June 20th at The Cloister Ballroom.
The special guest making an appearance on the 20th is none other than adventure photographer extraordinaire, Paul Nicklen. He’s an award winning artist who has been previously named BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year and the International League of Conservation Photographers’40 Best Nature Photographers of All Time. During his much anticipated, two-day visit to Sea Island, Georgia, he’ll be participating in dinner events and leading a children’s program about polar bears.
In late July, a second National Geographic celebrity, Peter Hillary, will be taking time to set foot onto Sea Island, Georgia, real estate. Perhaps you’ve heard of his family’s impressive mountain climbing history or read one of his many books on the subject. They’ve been associated with such famous landmarks as Mount Everest, Mount Vinson, K2, Makalu West Pillar, the Carstenz Pyramids and the Seven Summits.
Well, he is expected to be the guest speaker at three events running from July 25th until the 26th. All three events are scheduled to take place at The Cloister Ballroom and will give visitors a change to talk with the renowned adventurer.
In our opinion, that really makes them must attend fetes for climbing enthusiasts and those that love establishing a connection to important periods in American history. Tickets and additional information about both National Geographic themed events are available through the ballroom’s staff.
