Jekyll Island has hosted the Turtle Crawl since 2003 to benefit the Georgia Sea Turtle Center (GSTC), a working wildlife hospital open to the public that has an interactive exhibit gallery and rehabilitation pavilion.
Visitors can observe and be educated about sea turtle and other wildlife. Since it opened in 2007, the GSTC has been responsible for healing and releasing almost 2,500 animals. From world-class athletes to novices, the Turtle Crawl races offer something for athletes of every skill level.
2nd Annual Golden Isles PREP Rally
May 20 at Brunswick’s Mary Ross Waterfront Park.
This FREE community event is to educate the Coastal Georgia Community in an interactive and fun way, how, what, and where to be ready for any disaster with the spotlight on flood and hurricane awareness. It coincides with National Safe Boating Week that shows rally goers how to protect their boats and other property. It also brings in the US Coast Guard air and surface on the water rescue exhibition.
