The Veterans Council of the Golden Isles awarded Chandra the Outstanding Community Service Award in 2017, and she is the first civilian to receive the award. Elegant Island Living readers chose her as Community Volunteer 2015. She also volunteers with the non-profit organization No Kill Glynn County, a local dog and cat rescue, and donates to them from each sale.
